Tahun ini ASEAN berulang tahun yang ke 44. ASEAN pertama kali berdiri pada 8 Agustus 1967. Saat ini ada 10 Negara di Asia Tenggara yang sudah bergabung sebagai anggota ASEAN: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam. Setiap tahunnya ASEAN memilih Chair-nya. Tahun ini kepemimpinan ASEAN ada di Indonesia dengan Presiden SBY sebagai ketua-nya. Dan, perayaan ASEAN Day tahun ini di kantor turut dihadiri oleh Presiden SBY :).
Setiap tahun, selalu ada Flag Hoisting alias pengibaran bendera ASEAN di tengah-tengah 10 bendera negara anggotanya. Tahun ini agak sedikit berbeda dengan hadirnya Marching Band Tarakanita. Well, sebenernya tahun ini memang agak sedikit berbeda sama tahun lalu (entah ya dengan tahun2x sebelumnya... this is only my second year in ASEAN :P). Kemaren itu kantor bahkan dihias macam gedung resepsi kawinan... happening banget deh pokoknya ohohohoo....Perbedaannya juga ditambah dengan persiapan dan pengamanan gedung yang lebih ketat. Berikut terlihat penampakan-penampakan paspampres :P.
Kali ini juga aku ikutan memeriahkan dengan bergabung sebagai ASEC Choir. Yaah.. suara ga bagus-bagus amat siih tapi masih bisalaah nyamain sama yang lain hahahhay.... Seperti biasa, ASEC Choir akan mengiringi Flag Hoister dengan membawakan lagu ASEAN Anthem. Dan dengan tambahan 4 lagu untuk dinyanyikan pas pembukaan Batik exhibition.
Undangan yang hadir terdiri dari Ambassador-ambassador dari 10 negara ASEAN, terutama, dan dari seluruh Embassy yang ada di Jakarta, Mentri, diplomat, dll (oww..ada Bang Fauzi Bowo juga tuh kemaren).
Masuk kantor pagi itupun harus melewati penjagaan paspampres (meeeeh...) dan pengaturan keluar masuk kendaraan/orang cukup ketat... Dan, seperti biasa kalau da tamu penting datang, kantor mengeluarkan arrangement untuk keluar masuk orang dan kendaraan ini...seperti ini:
Dear Sirs, Mesdames, and colleagues,
In view of the ASEAN Day Celebrations on Monday, 8 August 2011, the following are the arrangements to parking of cars.
The parking lot at the front of AMS flag pole will be closed for the whole day due to these area will be used for AMS Flag hoisting ceremony.
The parking lot at the back of ASEAN Secretariat Building (Volley ball yard) will be used for the placement of special security vehicles (Armored cars).
Entry and Exit Gates:
1. Entry to ASEC for President of Republic of Indonesia, SG, DSGs, CPRs and Ambassadors will be via the Red Gate (Sisingamangaraja).
2. Blue Gate will be closed for in-coming traffic from 7.00 am onwards.
3. Red Gate will be closed for in-coming traffic from 9.05 am onwards.
4. After the function, all traffic will move out via the Blue Gate.
Car Park Arrangements : Please see attached Car Park Layout.
1. The Ambassadors and CPRs will be dropped at the Lobby.
2. CPR cars will be parked at Walikota Building parking lot, on a first-come-first served basis.
3. Other Diplomatic cars will be parked side by side with the CPR parking.
4. Other visitors cars/Journalist will be via Jln Sisingamangaraja – Trunojoyo to Walikota Building parking lot.
5. Staff cars will be via Jln Sisingamangaraja – Trunojoyo to Walikota Building parking lot.
After the President leaves the ASEAN Secretariat at 10.00 am, all the Diplomatic cars could be moved to ASEAN Secretariat.
Acara hari itupun sudah disusun dengan sedetail-detailnya dan acara harus berjalan tepat waktu. Run Down nya seperti ini:
ASEC staff is recommended to arrive at 7.45 am to avoid collision with the guests arrival and be ready at the flag poles area by 8 am
For those who use personal cars can park at the next building (old Mayor’s office/Kantor Lama Walikota)and walk in from the blue gate
All staff should wear ASEC identification tag to facilitate Palace Security/Paspampres’s recognition.

Our Guests will be dropped- off through the red gate, enter the lobby and proceed to the flag poles area
All ASEC staff to be ready at the flag poles area
08:15 hrs Marching Band Performance by Korps Putri Tarakanita – All Girls Corps

8:20 hrs MC announces the arrival of ASEAN SG and FM at the flag poles area

08:30 hrs Commencement of Flag Hoisting Ceremony
Singing of the ASEAN Anthem by ASEC Choir

Staff proceed to the Mezzanine floor immediately
ADR and above proceed directly to the ASEAN Hall; other staff to line at the foyer to greet the President as he enters the lobby
08:50 hrs All guests are seated in ASEAN Hall
08:55 hrs Arrival of H.E. Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, President of the Republic of Indonesia, at the ASEAN Secretariat
Staff by the foyer to give a big applause as he enters the lobby
Once the President entourage reaches the Jasmine room, staff by the foyer proceed quickly to viewing area in front of Angsana Room
